Zygmunt "Zyge" Markowski

Zygmunt "Zyge" Markowski, age 66, of Union, passed away at the Overlook Medical Center, Summit.

Zyge was born in Mielec, Poland, to Kazimierz and Amiela Markowski, and has since resided in Union for over 30 years. He worked as a commercial painter for the Alpine Painting and Sand Blasting Co. of Patterson for many years. Zyge was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Irvington, where he made numerous contributions, as well as, having a position on the Parish Council and Eucharistic Minister.

Zyge is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Jolanta (nee Bomska); 2 daughters Marlena Wojcik (Martin) and Kasia Smiatacz (Victor); 2 sisters Barbara Magaldo and Margaret Markowski; 4 grandchildren Victoria, Patrick, Julia, and Jacob.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral on Wednesday July 18, 2018, at 8:15 am, from the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, thence to Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Irvington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am. Interment, Our Lady of Czestochowa, Doylestown, PA. Visitation Tuesday from 4-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Building Fund.
