Rozalia Szuszkowski (nee Toporowska), age 91, passed away on Sunday May 17, 2020, surrounded by family at her residence.
Born in Kozlow, Poland, to Michal and Ludwika, Mrs. Szuszkowski resided in Irvington and most recently Scotch Plains for the last 39 years. She was a homemaker dedicated to her family.
Private Services are being offered for the immediate family followed by an Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, while New Jersey endures the limitations on gatherings and travel. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark, NJ 07066. A generous heart was Rozalia’s trademark and she cherished her family dearly. She loved to prepare traditional Polish dishes. There was always room at the table for more people and when you left Rozalia’s home you felt both welcomed as a friend and left as a treasured family member. She was an avid gardener who lovingly tended to her roses creating a private oasis in her own backyard.
Mrs. Szuszkowski is survived by her two daughters; Mary A. and Wanda K. Szuszkowski along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, the late Joseph Szuszkowski.
