Lawrence Kevin Wheat

Lawrence Kevin Wheat, age 70, passed away with his loving wife at his side on Monday June 8, 2020 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he has resided in Clark for the past 37 years. Mr. Wheat started working for the Federal Government as a postal carrier. After receiving his Master’s Degree from NYU he began working for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as a Safety Specialist working out of the Avenel office retiring in 2010. Mr. Wheat was honorably recognized for his services offered at the World Trade Towers following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Irene C. (Wodkiewicz); beloved godfather of Jennifer Bednar, Mia Niemiec, Angela Zhuo and Ryan Zhuo; loving friend Ann “Joyce” Mooloo; many cousins and friends who stuck with him during his battle with his health over the past five years.

He is predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Agnes Wheat and John and Felicia Wodkiewicz; one sister, the late Agnes and her husband the late Ralph DellaSala.

Larry was such a wonderful, kind and gentle spirit. He was so loved and will be greatly missed. All who knew “Pooh” and all who loved him will never forget him.

A private gathering and burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover will be offered for the immediate family and close friends. Arrangements are under the direction of the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066.
