Katherine Naberezny (nee Nowak), age 96, passed away at the Arnold Walter Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ.
Born in Poland. At age 14 was separated from her family and taken to Germany to work on a farm until the end of WWII. Katherine met her husband Stanley and gave birth to her first son in a German displaced persons camp, where she waited for six years to be sponsored and approved to come to America. Mrs. Naberezny resided in Union for many years and most recently Hazlet. She worked for many years as a seamstress with the International Ladies Garment Union of NY, NY. Mrs. Naberezny loved to cook and she was a very active parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Irvington. At the Church she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, she sang in the choir and was always helping in the kitchen. Katherine was proud to be an American citizen and along with her husband Stanley worked hard to raise their two sons and achieve “The American Dream.”
Mrs. Naberezny is survived by two sons, Richard Naberezny and his wife Joan, and George Naberezny; three grandchildren, John and his wife Dana, Brian and his wife Amanda, and Jeffrey; three great grandchildren, Macie, Jake, and Zoe. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley Naberezny (1990).
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Tuesday November 2, 2021 from 9 am to 10 am at the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Funeral Service will follow at 10 am thence funeral procession to Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery for a Graveside Service and Interment. In lieu of flowers, kindly offer donations to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Building Fund.
