Joanna (Kulaj) Piekarz

Joanna Piekarz (nee Kulaj), age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 17, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Born in Poland, Mrs. Piekarz came to the United States in 1963 and resided in Newark, then Irvington and most recently Cranford since 1974. Joanna held numerous positions at Ciba-Geigy Corporation for 30 years. She was also a homemaker to her husband and three children. Mrs. Piekarz was a a longtime member of the Blue Army of Washington, NJ.

Mrs. Piekarz is survived by one son, John Piekarz; one daughter Maria Newhard; two granddaughters, Tracey and Joanna Newhard; one sister Adelka Kandziora; one nephew Tomek Kandziora and his wife Nektaria; as well as nieces and nephews residing in Poland.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years the late Emil Piekarz (2008) and one son the late Zbignew “Pete” Piekarz (2012).

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Tuesday July 20, 2021, from 4-8 pm, at the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 8:30 am from the funeral home on Wednesday July 21, 2021, thence to Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Irvington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 am. Interment, Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
