Adolph Cukier, passed away on January 26, 2023, at the age of 88, surrounded by his family at the Clark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Druzykowa Poland, to Franciszek and Antonina Cukier. He immigrated to the United States in 1951 and attended St. Stanislaus School where he met and married Josephine Nowak. After finishing vocational high school, they purchased their first home in Newark. After 6 years they moved to Springfield, where they raised their 3 sons and 1 daughter. In 1983 they built their dreamhouse in Mountainside where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends for 23 years. In 2006 they moved to Clark.
After he developed his skills as a machinist, Al established Alker Tool Co. in Maplewood and successfully ran it for over 30 years. He was a kindhearted man that helped countless Polish immigrants establish themselves in America. Al was a devoted parishioner of St. Stanislaus R.C. Church in Newark where he married his wife, and their children and grandchildren were also baptized there. He was a great supporter to his wife Josephine, and both volunteered time and talents to many Polish organizations and causes. Al was a PCF bingo volunteer for 37 years, also an active member and volunteer for Polish Children’s Heartline for many years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Josephine (nee Nowak); loving father of his three sons, Henry (Andrea), Andrew (the late Dorothy), and Thomas (Kattia); the apple of his eye, daughter Renee Napoli (David); beloved grandfather “Dziadziu” of Nicholas, Amanda, Caroline, Isabella, Lucca, Andrew and Aiden; great grandfather of Jacob and Zachary; he was loved and respected by many nieces, nephews, and sister in laws Emily and Stella, as well as many friends.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Friday February 3, 2023, from 4-8 pm, at the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark. A Funeral Ceremony will begin on Saturday February 4, 2023, at 8:45 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, 146 Irvine Turner Blvd. Newark. Interment at Our Lady of Czestochowa, Doylestown, PA.
