Henry Imiolek

Henry Imiolek, age 88, of Clark, passed away on Monday December 2, 2019, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway. 

Mr. Imiolek was born in Marianow, Poland, to Wladyslaw and Marianna. At the start of World War II, his family was uprooted from Poland by Soviet forces and taken to a forced labor camp in Siberia. When the Soviet Union joined the Allies against the Nazis, Polish families made their own way across the southern republics finally making their way out of Turkmenistan into Persia. From there, the Imiolek family made their way to refugee camps in countries now known as Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya. After the war, Henry and his family were repatriated to England.

Soon after arriving in England, the Imioleks immigrated to the US. They were sponsored by their cousins, the Paczynski family. He became a mechanical designer working for several toy companies and then as a freelancer for a 45 years career.

Mr. Imiolek lived in Irvington before residing in Clark for the past 55 years. He was an avid parishioner of St. John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to the Funeral on Friday December 6, 2019, at 8:30 am, from the Parkway Wozniak Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, thence to Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church, Irvington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Mr. Imiolek is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Helen (nee Dynak); one son Adam and his wife Janneke; two daughters Lydia Neumann and her husband Eric and Theresa Ha and her husband Grant; two sisters Stefania Imiolek and Danuta Flius; sister-in-law Krystyna Imiolek; and six grandchildren, Matthew and Abigail Imiolek, Sean and Chad Neumann, and Timothy and Cassidy Ha. Mr. Imiolek was predeceased by his brother Ireneusz; sister Maria Rusek; and brother-in-law Kazimierz Filus.
