Emily was born April 10, 1934 to Caroline and Frank Mazur (nee Mudy). She grew up in Newark and lived in Irvington until moving to Clark in 1984 attending Sacred Heart of Jesus School and Newark High School. After graduation, she was employed by Anheuser-Busch in the Accounting department.
Married January 23, 1955 at Sacred Heart to her beloved husband John of nearly 65 years, Emily and John opened John’s American Service in Irvington which they operated together for 54 years from 1956 to 2010 with the help of their sons John Jr. and Stephen.
A lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart in Irvington, she was very involved in both the church and school. Whether it was a PTA activity, scouting, bingo or overseeing a church event, you could always find with her group of friends that she maintained throughout her life. When not at Sacred Heart, she was the dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed cooking homemade Polish meals, shuttling her children to events and activities and spending time with her granddaughters.
